Cyprus is a large island with an abundance of different landscapes and places of interest.  To help you, as a property owner or holiday visitor, we have listed some of the most popular tourist attractions guaranteed to fulfill your days.

Ayia Napa

This magnificent monastery (Plateia Seferi) is situated close to the Square in Ayia Napa and is a place of calm amidst the hustle and bustle of this busy town. It was built around 1570 by the Venetians and stands on the site of a cave where an illuminated icon of the Virgin Mary was discovered by a hunter. Outside the south gate is an enormous sycamore tree which is said to be over 600 years old. A marble fountain dating from 1530 stands in the courtyard. The monastery flourished until the 1800s and is still used today.

Cape Greco are sea caves situated just before the actual land’s end which is Cape Greco. You will  see people diving off the spectacular cliffs into the clear blue water, strong currents have been noted around this area, so take care. There is a platform above the caves which gives incredible views. A few minutes walk North from the car park leads to a small bay, and the remains of a Venetian lighthouse, popular amongst bird-watchers.

Nissi Beach has to be one of the most popular of Agia Napa’s beaches. The sea is safe and shallow and the beach is long and golden. There are a variety of activities in the immediate area if you prefer something more active than sunbathing, including wind-surfing and jet-biking.

Paphos

Paphos Aphrodite Water Park is set within 35,000 sqm of natural landscaped grounds and is situated at the far eastern end of the Kato Paphos coastal road and offers a wide and varied selection of rides, attractions and facilities, which include spacious changing rooms, secure locker rooms, and eating places. The park is also suitable for disabled visitors. Click here to go directly to the water park website.

Aphrodite's Rock is an essential place to visit but you will need a car.  Easy to find via signposts and ample parking areas.  Its a pleasant area to 'stop off' and take in the sea air and quietness (except in high season).  There are no major facilities except a cafe for a cool drink and lunch.  Despite the warm air temperatures the sea is particularly cold - great if you need to chill out.  It is possible to swim around the rock but make sure you choose the right one.  The beach is pebble only.

Paphos Harbour is a perfect location for lunch or evening dinner with its many bars and restaurants.  During the day make sure you visit Paphos Castle, the best view is from the top platform looking out to the bay.

Close to Coral Bay are Adonis Baths - steeped in history, it was here that Aphrodite met her lover Adonis and where they bathed together beside the waterfalls. You will find a statue of both of them, a must for those important photographs. According to Greek Mythology this is where Aphrodite and Adonis spent much of their time, their favourite place. It was also here that many of their children were born.

Pissouri

A beautiful little village with a world class golf course not far away.  A good choice of shops are to be found here, great for those who like to barter or find a bargain.  The beach is clean and safe with part sand and part shingle.  The surrounding coast and countryside is very pretty.  Pissouri is famous for its sultanas and grapes.
