| Limassol Limassol is half way between the two international airports in Cyprus. It is Cyprus’ main commercial and cultural centre. Lying on the south coast, it’s popular with holiday makers and also a short drive from the southern slopes of the Troodos mountains, where you can find beautiful hillside villages. The great thing about Limassol is that it offers awide range of things for all ages and all tastes. The amount of cafeterias on the sea front and in the old historic centre, the museums, the clubs, all exist together in full harmony due to its size. The town’s University is located in the historic centre. A town which has so much to offer in terms of international schools, conference places and a multi cultural centre. In terms of property, Limassol is preferred by people of all groups and nationalities.
Paphos
Paphos is probably one of the best known areas of Cyprus as a holiday hot spot and many people who retire to Cyprus choose Paphos. It sits on the beautiful south-west coast and has great transport connections, including Paphos International Airport. In addition, all the main golf courses on the island are close to Paphos. In terms of property, in the past Paphos was popular mainly among retired people but due to its recent growth it started to attract other categories of people as well (second home owners, investors, people who simply wish to relocate).

Larnaca is where you will find Cyprus’ main international airport and is in the south east of the island. It’s also a major tourist resort and has some beautiful Blue Flag beaches. Larnaca is cheaper than some other areas on the island as, up until recently, it wasn’t as popular as some of the other resorts. It’s been undergoing major infrastructure improvements including an upgrading of the airport and the existing marina will be extended.
Famagusta is east of Larnaca airport and the coastal areas are very popular with holiday makers. They include the resort of Agia Napa (below left), Protaras a quieter (below right), but still popular resort which has 16km of beautiful coastline and there’s the delightful town of Paralimni, which has modern shops and facilities but hasn’t lost any of its traditional charm. In the past people did not prefer to relocate there as it was too busy in the summer and too quiet in the winter. In the recent years this has changed, however it is a mainly holiday destination.
Nicosia
Nicosia, known locally as Lefkosia, is the capital and largest city of Cyprus. Located on the River Pedieos and situated almost in the centre of the island, it is the seat of government as well as a business centre.
Lania is a charming village that rests on the rolling hillsides 20 minutes drive to the north of Limassol and the south of the Troodos mountains in the heart of rural Cyprus. Lania has become an artist's haven. Very quaint and unspoilt, many properties built of local stone.
